Our Story
Natalia and Ravi's love story began in August 2016 when Ravi moved to Des Moines, Iowa for medical school. Little did he know that Natalia was already attending DMU and would be his teaching assistant where she later proctored him during an exam... and to his dismay she did not give him 100% of the points. Thankfully, they were both able to get passed this (well at least Natalia was) and they quickly recognized a common goofiness and sense of sarcasm in one another that helped carry them through the long hours of studying. Natalia and Ravi became almost inseparable and discovered how well they worked as a pair in all areas of their lives. From cooking together (but don't ask who is the better chef) and attempting to become wine sommeliers to trusting one another while learning acroyoga together, their love blossomed.
Fate kept Natalia and Ravi together during their residency training when they both matched in Ohio. While there, they endured some of the most difficult times during the COVID pandemic, but they also shared many of their favorite memories together including welcoming their puppy, Echo, into the family, exploring new destinations, and unleashing their competitive sides with DDR (yes, they do mean dance-dance-revolution) matches. As the end of residency approached, Ravi planned a trip to Jamaica and (despite a near-fiasco with the ring and an airline attempting to sabotage the vacation) what started as a sunset walk on the beach, ended in a surprise romantic proposal that was nothing short of perfect.
Their love traveled to new heights on a memorable European vacation before beginning the next chapter of their story in the Twin Cities where they are preparing to finally tie the knot! Natalia and Ravi look forward to endless adventures together and cannot wait to celebrate their love story with each of you this August!
